Important Information to Know in Tractor Trailer Rig Accidents

How many of you have actually sat in the driver’s seat of a big rig?

Ridden shotgun?

Truckers are the lifeblood of our economy. For the most part they are good guys, working hard to get us the items we want to buy in our hometowns across this great country. But, sometimes they are placed between a rock and a hard place by their employers, sometimes they make their own choices that put them in that position.

Since they are driving huge and dangerous vehicles across our highways, naturally, they have an increased risk if they do cause a wreck someone is going to get hurt and it’s going to hurt worse.

Truckers have requirements for training that regular drivers don’t, they have reporting requirements that other drivers don’t and they have mandatory drive times and other things that by law they are either required to do or required not to do, the same applies for the companies that run their trucks.

It is important if you have been hurt by a tractor trailer rig, you take control of the proof quickly before it is erased, you want log books, and other items that the company has to maintain, but only for certain time periods. A lawyer can request these items in writing, asking that they be preserved so that if you do end up having to file a lawsuit, they are still around for your evidence. Be sure you evaluate this before you go forward.
